Public authorities, including Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, are obliged to provide public access to any documented official information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Environmental Information Regulations 2004
These regulations give people a right of access to information about the activities of public authorities that relate to or affect the environment, unless there is a good reason for them not to have the information.
You can make an Environmental Information Request (EIR) relating to environmental information that a public authority holds (for example, information about air, water, soil, land, landscape, marine areas, biodiversity, energy, noise and waste etc) which isn't relating to personal data or general data.

Maintaining the right of confidentiality is important for all Local Government organisations. If you want to ask us for information that we may hold about you personally, this will be dealt with under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Publication Scheme
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, every public authority must publish and maintain a Publication Scheme which sets out the information they routinely make available to the public.
