How we manage landlords of tenant housing

We investigate and advise in relation to privately rented housing by requiring landlords to carry out necessary repair or improvement work.

Landlords have certain legal responsibilities to their tenants.

We encourage landlords and agents to resolve concerns directly with their tenants.

If this is not successful then please contact us.

Staff from the Council’s Environmental Health can offer advice to tenants, landlords and letting agents on what their legal rights and responsibilities are in the following areas:

  • property standards
  • repairs
  • entry rights
  • rent/rates arrears
  • unprotected tenancy deposits,
  • threatened behaviour by landlord or evictions
  • breach of tenancy terms

If you need further guidance or information please email ehealth@lisburncastlereagh.gov.uk  or phone 028 9244 7300 to speak to an officer.
