The Lisburn and Castlereagh Labour Market Partnership is proud to offer fully funded places on the Childcare Upskilling Academy.
Are you currently working in an entry-level position within a childcare setting? Are you eager to advance your career but lack the qualifications or experience to step into a supervisory or management role? If so, this academy is the ideal opportunity for you!
Participants will work towards the Level 3 NCFE CACHE Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning & Development, a qualification that fulfils the registration and regulatory requirements for childcare practitioners in Northern Ireland.
Course highlights
The programme curriculum covers essential topics, including:
- context, principles, and values underpinning childcare practice
- effective communication and partnership working
- safeguarding children
- ensuring children’s safety, health, and well-being
- supporting children’s personal care and nutrition
- promoting and supporting children’s development
In addition to the core modules, participants will attend masterclasses on best practices in the early years sector. These sessions will be delivered remotely via Zoom every fortnight in the evening, ensuring accessibility and convenience.
Eligibility criteria
To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- reside in the Lisburn and Castlereagh area
- be over 18 years of age
- be employed in an early years childcare setting and have the potential to progress within their current organisation
- demonstrate a commitment to fully participating in all aspects of the academy
- possess a good standard of written English
