Autumn is just around the corner, and with it returns a spectacular event set to transform Lisburn’s Wallace Park into a mesmerising wonderland. Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is once again presenting its ever-popular Twilight Nights, promising a dazzling spectacle for all. This year's event offers two distinct evenings, each carefully curated to provide a unique and enchanting experience for the whole family.
An Immersive, Family-Friendly Adventure
First, on Wednesday, 22 October, from 6 to 8 pm, the Relaxed Twilight Night offers a truly accessible and inclusive experience. Designed especially for families with young children or anyone sensitive to noise and crowds, this evening is a gentle, illuminated journey. Guests can wander an enchanting trail where friendly characters and soft music create a serene atmosphere. The night also features face painting, a silent disco, and a dedicated Sensory Bus. To maintain this tranquil environment, the evening will be free of fireworks, strobe lighting, and lasers.
A Night of Light, Sound, and Community
The spectacle continues on Thursday, 23 October, from 7 to 9pm, with the main Twilight Night. This is an evening of high energy and pure excitement, beginning with a mesmerising lantern parade. Local schools and community groups come together to create a vibrant tapestry of light, all moving to the pulsating sounds of renowned drummers SPARK!. This cherished tradition not only lights up the city centre but also serves as a proud moment of communal celebration. The trail itself in Wallace Park is a feast for the senses, culminating in a superb fireworks finale and laser show. To keep everyone fuelled for the adventure, an Artisan Food Village will offer a delicious selection of local treats for the whole family to enjoy.
Looking forward to the event, Tim Mitchell, Chair of Communities and Wellbeing Committee for Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council commented, “Twilight Night is an enchanting experience enjoyed by many families. I am looking forward to seeing the transformation of Wallace Park into a theatrical wonderland that will dazzle and delight. I would encourage anyone planning to attend to add to the twilight sparkle by wearing fancy dress, or neon glow sticks. Just remember this is an outdoor event, so please dress according to the weather and ground conditions on the evening.”
