Visiting the recycling centre
Before your visit
- access to the recycling centres is restricted to Lisburn and Castlereagh residents only
- please have your photographic ID with proof of address available for inspection on arrival. If your photographic ID does not show your address you should also bring a recent utility bill
- separate and sort your waste by type at home. It will help save time and reduce queues at busy times
- choose the recycling centre closest to your home and check the opening hours before you leave
- domestic heating oil tanks are no longer accepted at our facilities and we will not accept this waste for collection through our bulky collection service. Householders are advised to contact a specialist contractor who is authorised and licensed to collect, store and dispose of the tanks
- if you have tested positive or have COVID-19 symptoms or have had close contact with somebody who is positive, please consult the NI Direct website
During your visit
- when you arrive, report to a member of site at the Security Kiosk. Please follow directions from staff and dispose of your waste in the containers indicated
- ask an attendant if you are unsure about any materials you wish to recycle or need assistance with handling your waste
- recyclable materials cannot be disposed of in general waste skips, only non-recyclable materials can be disposed of in these skips
- all users must adhere to rules and signage
- scavenging of waste is not permitted at any time
- climbing on containers or barriers is strictly prohibited
- respect our staff, we will not tolerate any unacceptable behaviour. CCTV and/or body cameras will be in operation
- please be aware of other road users, if sites are busy try to call back at a different time.
- all household waste should be bagged
- garden waste should be loose
- recyclable materials, such as cardboard should all be separated and not bagged
- Wheelie bins cannot be directly emptied into a skip or container
- To protect the safety of our residents we cannot allow anyone to walk to the facility
- children and pets must remain in the vehicles at all times
